Review: The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I haven't blogged in yonks. So I thought I'd start with something that I've repurchased and have been using on a regular basis. This cleansing oil by The Body Shop is great stuff. I read a lot of reviews on this by beauty bloggers and the incomparable Caroline Hirons who have all recommended it highly.
I used to remove my make up (moisturiser, primer, foundation, concealer, mascara, gel eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush and powder) with two different tea tree face washes. One gel and the other foaming. Don't worry I don't use foaming products anymore, they are terrible products which turn your skin alkaline and encourage bacteria to grow. Thank you, Caroline for teaching me this. (It pays to read, people.) Those products were not good at removing my make-up and I found myself scrubbing and massaging the products in at least 3 times to remove it all. Saying that, once I toned, the pad always had make up on it which was a little annoying.

Hence, why I started to research about cleansing oils. I was VERY sceptical about using an OIL on my already oily/combo skin but I eventually plunged into the unknown facial oils depths and I haven't turned back. This stuff is dynamite. It melted my make up off completely, when used with a muslin cloth or face flannel it removes absolutely everything. When I tone, there is now barely anything on the cotton pad. I am very impressed with it and I've lost count of how many bottles I've used. I always double cleanse as my make up contains SPF. It says to rinse away but I would always use something else to make sure you've got rid of any residue. Again, muslin cloth/face flannel, people.

The camomile smells isn't over powering, the price isn't too bad, considering you get 200ml of product. However, I won't lie, I hesitate to purchase it at full price as I'm on a budget. Thankfully, TBS regularly do offers and most of the time I've been able to buy this at 30%, 40% and even 50% off.

Give it a try if you wear make up, SPF or if you just want to try something new in your cleansing routine.
