Soap & Glory SPF 50 Sunshield Superfluid Review for Black Skin

Sunscreens for Black Skin
Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid SPF 50
I've finally found a sunscreen for black skin that doesn't leave a white cast!

This post is all about the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid SPF 50 Broad Spectrum Sunscreen. I have been searching for a suitable sunscreen that is broad spectrum (both UVA and UVB) for black skin for more than a month. I've tried brands such as La Roche-Posay, Soltan, Vichy and Lancome and have struck out with all of them. They look like they would sink into my skin without leaving a white cast behind but they did. I tried two by Soltan and they were disastrous. Incredibly greasy, I had to wipe it off and rely on the minimal SPF my makeup provided.

I read LOADS of reviews on Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid but couldn't find any reviews by black bloggers as to whether it left a white cast or not. Thankfully, the blog posts I did find included swatches of the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid which gave me some hope that maybe it really was lightweight.

A lot of blog posts have claimed that the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid is affordable and is a drugstore product. I have to say that I disagree. It retails for £15 and you only get 30ml of product. That's not a lot of product. Most sunscreens are at least 50ml so taking that into consideration it's actually a very expensive drugstore sunscreen.

Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid Ingredients List

That being said I do like it a lot. Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid is an SPF 50 sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays. Contrary to popular belief, being blessed with melanin does not mean you can forgo wearing sunscreen. No excuses, my melanin beauties. This sunscreen contains vitamin E and C which is a great addition to a sunscreen as both are great for your skin. It's non-greasy and has a nice scent that isn't overpowering.

I do hope that the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid will be released in a larger size as 30ml isn't great value for money. However, this is a face sunscreen specifically so the rationale might be that it won't run out as quickly for that reason.

The best thing about the Soap & Glory Sunshield Superfluid is that it is a thin consistency and does not leave a white cast. It sits well under my makeup and is a great product to include in my skincare routine. NB: Sunscreen is the last product you apply to your skin whether you wear makeup or not.

I really want to know if you've found other sunscreens on the market that don't leave a white cast? Comment below :)

  3. Hawaiian tropics sunscreen is pretty good! £8 on Amazon including delivery and you get 200ml (I think!) Smells gorgeous and just works into your skin like a normal moisturiser
